Detailed information about the temples

Importance of the temple: The main deity is resting on a Adhi Seshan which is as similar as the ancient Anantha Padmanaha Swamy Temple at Trivandrum (Kerala). Another special feature of the temple is that it is constructed with Dwajasthambam (sacred altar) resembling the olden temples built by the ancient kings.

Famous for: The temple is renowned for its Brahmotsavam which is conducted every year for 9 days during the Tamil month of Masi. The temple is also famous for its Navarathri celebrations. Every year dance, musical programs and religious sermons are conducted during navarathri that pulls hundreds of devotees.

By Road: If you wish driving to Chennai from Bangalore then check out the following routes: Bangalore - Hosur (45 Kms) - Krishnagiri (90) on NH7 - Vaniyambadi (145) - Ambur (165) - Vellore (220) - Ranipet / Arcot (240) on NH 46 - Kanchi (Outskirts) (290) - Sriperumbudur(320) and finally Chennai (360) on NH4.
