Best time to Visit: Devotees should visit the temple during Skanda Sashti which is celebrated here in the Tamil month of Aippasi. Other festivals celebrated here include Panguni Utthiram. The Kartikai (Karthik Poornima that falls in December) attracts large crowds.

Detailed information about the temples

Architecture: The access to this temple is crowned with a Rajagopuram decorated with a number of stucco images portraying legends from the Skanda puranam. The temple depicts Dravidian architecture.

Famous for: The temple is immensely famous for conducting marriages. Around 7,000 couples get married each year in this temple. Another speciality of this temple is that devotees sacrifice their hair by shaving their heads (mundan/mottai).
